Two double-blind research studies incorporating Mediator Phosphatidic Acid (PA) combined with a resistance training protocol produced dramatic results, and validated the positive effects of MaxxTOR. Researchers at the University of Tampa conducted an eight-week study on fit men. All subjects receiving PA gained lean muscle mass, lost fat, saw an increase in barbell bench press strength and made gains in their quads.
• Male university test subjects gained 5.3 pounds of lean muscle mass.
• Subjects increased leg press strength by 128 pounds.
• Subjects increased bench press strength by 34 pounds.
• Subjects lost 3.3 pounds of fat mass.
Max Muscle’s Chief Science Officer wanted to find out how this product stood up to rigorous scientific testing, and he also wanted it proven safe and effective. Therefore, he, along with Dr. Guillermo Escalante, an assistant professor of kinesiology at California State University San Bernardino and two other colleagues, came together to build upon the University of Tampa study by conducting their own eight-week double-blind, placebo-controlled study on MaxxTOR. Their study, however, included women. Test subjects were not allowed to take other supplements, they had to weight train and they had to adhere to a healthy diet overseen by a dietitian. According to Escalante, both men and women who were given Mediator® Phosphatidic Acid in the study improved their upper body strength, lower body strength and lean body mass compared to the placebo.
